Abstract

This project focuses on the field of requirements engineering. The thesis centres on an examination of the requirements engineering processes at an electronics service provider operating internationally. The aim of the thesis is to develop a concept for implementing these processes. The thesis begins by explaining common approaches in the field of requirements engineering. The current situation is assessed through an ‘as-is’ analysis and evaluated using a utility analysis. Subsequently, criteria for optimising requirements engineering are selected. For each criterion, possible solutions are identified in order to achieve a higher rating. From the range of solutions, various optimisation options emerge. From these, the solution that delivers the greatest increase in utility value is selected. Finally, the necessary steps for implementing the chosen solution are described in a set of recommendations for action.
