Abstract

The increasing complexity of global supply chains and their vulnerability to disruptions necessitate innovative approaches in Supply Chain Resilience Management (SCRM). This article provides a comparative examination of the applicability of Case-Centric Process Mining (CCPM) and Object-Centric Process Mining (OCPM) for analyzing and enhancing resilience within supply chains. While CCPM focuses on the analysis of individual process instances, OCPM enables a multidimensional perspective on complex object relationships and process trajectories.

Based on synthetic datasets for order-to-cash and purchase-to-pay processes, both approaches are evaluated through use cases aligned with the SCOR model, addressing the resilience attributes of reliability, responsiveness, and agility. The analysis performed using the process mining tool Celonis demonstrates that CCPM facilitates rapid identification of key weaknesses but remains constrained by information losses resulting from data aggregation. In contrast, OCPM reveals chain reactions among objects, identifies object-specific sources of process instabilities, and enables a more granular examination of key performance indicators without the need for renewed data preprocessing.
